Annual Easter Brunch!

This has been a 6 year tradition still going strong!  In search of a yummy (and affordable) brunch on Easter Sunday I stumbled upon Karl Strauss in Sorrento Valley.  Not only was the price just right for a holiday brunch, it was delicious as well, and of course the bottomless mimosas don't hurt.

Typically the crew consists of any and every friend, or friend of friend that doesn't have family to spend the holiday with.  This year we had a total of 19 people that attended.  And of those 19 people, not one person is from San Diego.  We covered the US from the corner of the East coast to the corner of the West coast.  Great food and better company was had by all. 

Ky even wore a pink striped shirt.  I was thrilled and complimented him at least 30 times that day.  He always wears blue, so I was happy to see him venture out of his comfort zone, not to mention he looked HOT in it ;)
Having a big family of friends makes being away from family a bit easier, especially during the holidays.

What a fun weekend!!!  Where do I start??  My boss was out of the office for the week, which is always welcomed and a treat in itself  :)  Who doesn't love when there boss is out of town?  Secondly Ky's parents flew in on Wednesday, just in time for the rehearsal dinner at Cafe Coyote in Old Town.  The rehearsal was a breeze at the El Cortez and off to a Mexican fiesta we headed for some carne asada and margaritas! 

Thursday was filled with a little pampering!  It just happened to be Spa week in San Diego, so Ky and I decided to treat his Mom to a massage for an early Mother's Day present while her and I had some good old fashioned girl time.  We went to the Se' Hotel downtown, complete with complimentary valet parking and a shot of their eternal youth cocktail, it was yummy!!!  Afterwards we headed down to get manicures and pedicures with the bride-to-be and some of the other bridesmaids.  We finished the night at the Old Spaghetti Factory on the corner of 5th and K.  It was steps from the Hard Rock where we had a fancy suite for a fancy wedding day ahead!

Friday was busy and full!  Breakfast at 8:15am at Mary Jane's Diner at the Hard Rock filled everyone's tummy and then some!  Thankfully we all still fit into our dresses after eating their sinful hashbrowns, if you haven't had them you are missing out.   Hair and Make-up began at 10am and didn't finish until after 3pm, needless to say all the girls looked stunning, mission accomplished.

The limo arrived on time so we squeezed in a few photos in the Hard Rock Lobby, can't wait to see them, the backdrop was awesome. 

Of course, as most of you know I was sobbing at the altar the entire time.  They wrote their own vows and the day couldn't have been more perfect, 75 and sunny!!!  One of the groomsman caught a little too much sun, and maybe a few too many Corona's before the ceremony as he collapsed during the ceremony.  Thankfully he was a.o.k. and we were all laughing about it later in the evening.

Following the ceremony the evening flew by, and the next thing we knew it was 11pm and time to leave.  With  all the preparation and planning you always find yourself saying, does it have to end?  The speeches, music, food, cake, etc were all spectacular, there was a sea of smiles in the crowd; a fabulous wedding for our fabulous friends.

HAPPY EOQ!!!

For those of you in sales happy EOQ can also be referred to as an oxymoron.  EOQ = End of Quarter is generally quite stressful unless you have already hit quota which doesn't happen very often for some of us.  On the other hand we are all happy that it is over...and hitting or exceeding your number is even better. 

In Q1 we had a stretch bonus where we would need to hit a specific number to be awarded the bonus.  My particular number was $450K.  Luckily God was smiling over me because I finished my quarter at $515K. 
This will definitely come in handy with our newly acquired car payments :)

Ky had a rough start to the week with what we thought was a bad case of food poisoning.  Unfortunately he still hasn't been able to stomach much food and eating very small portions...I am hoping spring fever will help him feel good again, not to mention it is sunny and 75 today.
